Highlights and Scores from GHSA Opening Round Girls Soccer Play Thursday

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – GHSA Opening Round Girls Soccer play continued Thursday across the state.
In AAAA, (18-0-1) Perry hosted (3-11-1) New Hampstead and it was all Lady Panthers from the start. Five goals in the first half and five more in the second half helped Perry advance to the next round. They will play Trinity Christian, the one in Sharpsburg, April 25th.
Down the road at Freedom Field, (8-6-3) Veterans was eliminated by (8-10-1) St. Pius X in AAAAAA play by a final score of 10-0 after eight goals in the first half from the Lions.

In AA girls, ACE advances with a 2-1 victory over Appling County – They will face Worth County in the second round Apr 25.
Dodge County beats Washington County 3-0. They advance to face Pierce County Apr 25.
Toombs County defeated Rutland 2-0 and Central lost to SAA 10-0.
In AAAA girls, Islands beat Baldwin 7-1.
In AAAAAA girls, Houston County falls to North Atlanta 10-0.
