MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – At Luther Williams Field, The FPD Vikings baseball team lost Game Two of the GIAA AAAA State Championship best of three series against Brookstone 9-5 to end their season.

After scoring two runs in the top first, FPD allowed seven runs in the bottom first and could never recover. They trailed as few as three runs in the top of the sixth when they were down 8-5.

After the game, Justin Dierkes spoke with Head Coach Greg Moore about how proud he is of the season they had and the six seniors that helped propel the program this far.

“Well we don’t do anything we did without them” said Coach Moore about the FPD seniors.

“They’ve been on a four year journey and we came up short in this series. Didn’t do some things we needed to do at the right time and had some chances, and we never capitalized on those chances when we got them, and Brookstone did. They got a good baseball team, but that doesn’t take anything away about how I feel about our seniors and what they’ve done. They’ve been fantastic.”
