High Schoolers Prepare for Robot Competition
Students from Howard High School, Mount de Sales, and Northeast High School are getting ready to send their robot to Atlanta.
The group of 35 is participating in the ‘First Robotics Competition’, which gives high school students a chance to create a robot that must perform specialized tasks.
This year the robot must hang plastic blow up inner tubes in a certain design from pegs on a wall.
The team can also score extra points if a smaller “mini-bot” can be sent from the larger robot and climb a poll.
The team is sending their robot to Atlanta on Tuesday, so today was crunch time for the group to make sure all the kinks were taken care of.
The competition will take place at the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta on March 18th and 19th.
