Hickey Leads LSU To 59-50 Win Over Georgia Tech

CHARLESTON, SC – Anthony Hickey scored 20 points to lead LSU to a 59-50 victory over Georgia Tech and fifth place at the Charleston Classic on Sunday.

The Tigers (3-2) fell into the loser’s bracket with a first-round loss to Northwestern at TD Arena. But they rebounded to win the last two games over Western Kentucky and the Yellow Jackets.

Hickey had a 3-pointer with 5:01 left that put LSU ahead for good, 44-43. Ralston Turner and Andre Stringer followed with 3s to extend the Tigers lead.

Georgia Tech (3-2) got as close as 50-49 on Mfon Udofia’s 3-pointer with 3:15 remaining. But Justin Hamilton made two foul shots and a basket to restore LSU’s margin.

Udofia led the Yellow Jackets with 14 points.
