Heikkinen Wins SLYVANIA zXe Global Rallycross Race at Atlanta
HAMPTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dirt, gravel, water, jumps and extreme sports stars from the X-Games–that’s the recipe for some exciting racing action at Atlanta Motor Speedway!
Saturday, the Global Rallycross series took to the Hampton track for the first time, entertaining thousands of race fans with a wild, no holds barred race.
At the end of the day, 23-year-old Rallycross star Toomas Heikkinen won his fifth race in a row to extend his championship points lead over American Tanner Foust, who finished second after a flat tire late in the race. Sverre Isachsen weaved through the field to finish third.
The series now moves to Charlotte before wrapping up the season in Las Vegas in November.
