Heavy rain today and far colder weather tomorrow

Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lots of rain is still expected through the afternoon today. We’re putting estimates around an inch or more. Yesterday, we received 1.13″ at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport.

Can we get storms? Eh, possibly, but most of the precipitation will be in the form of rainfall and that’s it; there’s no chance of severe weather. I won’t be surprised to see fog again tomorrow morning after a foggy start for most of Middle Georgia today and all the moisture and condensation throughout the night.

This is all associated with a cold front that’s going to take the temperatures down starting tomorrow. Highs this weekend will be in the 50s, and the lows? Bring in the plants and pets as overnight lows will be in the 20s Friday and Saturday. 50s are seasonable, but the 20s are well below the norm. Expect sunshine, lower humidity and, for Friday anyway, breezy weather.
