Heavy rain moves in Thursday ahead of major cooldown
MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT)- Clouds will increase across the state today ahead of tomorrow’s strong cold front.
TODAY.
Under a mostly sunny sky this afternoon high temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 60’s. Tonight, a mostly cloudy sky is in store. Temperatures will hover in the upper 40’s as a few light showers move through before daybreak on Thursday.
CHRISTMAS EVE.
If you have any last minute shopping to do tomorrow then you will definitely need the rain gear. A cold front will bring widespread, heavy rain to Middle Georgia beginning by the mid-morning hours. Rain will continue into the afternoon and evening. Temperatures ahead of the front will top out near 60°. Behind the front, temperatures will crash into the middle 20’s overnight.
CHRISTMAS DAY & BEYOND.
We will be dry and chilly for Christmas Day. Temperatures will only make it into the low and middle 40’s. Dry weather looks to continue for a handful of days as temperatures climb back into the 60’s by early next week.
