Heated Discussion Over City Employee Salaries Between Warner Robins Mayor and Council

Tonight, discussion got heated at Warner Robins pre-council when the topic of city employees was brought to the table.

Council looked at a resolution to approve the 1.5% cost of living pay adjustment increase for city employees. The increase is part of the 2011-2012 budget.

Councilman Bob Wilbanks argued with Mayor Chuck Shaheen. Wilbanks believes the increase should be replaced with the implementation of the Carl Vinson Pay Study recommendations. The mayor says he doesn’t think the city is ready for that plan until the next fiscal year.
