More heat records could be broken this week in Middle Georgia

Good evening!
Middle Georgia made it back into the mid and upper 90’s today, including here in Macon. At the Middle Georgia Regional Airport we tied a record high of 97. More potentially record breaking heat is on the way through the weekend.

High pressure will continue to influence our forecast through this week and into next week. This will keep things mainly dry and mostly sunny. Temperatures will be soaring into the upper 90’s through the rest of the weekend.

The record high temperatures from all of May is 99, but we are forecast to make it into the triple digits by the end of the weekend. Expect the heat to hang around through the start of next week. Unfortunately our rain chances stay very low through the extended forecast period.
