Heat and humidity continue with low rain chances

MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT)- Heat index values will approach the triple digits on multiple afternoons this week as temperatures soar into the middle 90’s.

TODAY.

Partly sunny conditions this afternoon will allow temperatures to warm into the low and middle 90’s area wide. Showers and thunderstorms today will be isolated. Tonight, if you have plans to be outside you will not need the umbrella. Temperatures will fall into the low and middle 70’s. A few clouds will hang around through the night.

TOMORROW.

More of the same is on the way Tuesday with rain and storm chances returning for the afternoon. Temperatures will hold steady in the middle 90’s during the afternoon before falling into the low 70’s overnight.

WEEK AHEAD.

Our weather pattern will stay fairly consistent through the next seven days. Thursday and Friday look to be the drier of seven days, but even then we will deal with a few afternoon showers and storms. A pair of tropical systems are being monitored in the Atlantic. There is no immediate threat to our area, but we will continue to watch them.
