Headliners announced for Cherry Blossom Festival Street Party

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – New headliners will perform at this year’s street party on April 1st for the 35th Cherry Blossom Festival.

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will grace Macon with their appearance.

Their famous hits include P. Funk , Flashlight, Aqua Boogie and many more.

Clinton created the Parliament in 1955 and they got their big break in 1971 with their song The Breakdown. It reached number thirty on the R&B charts.

The street party will happen on First St. between Poplar St. and Cotton Ave. Street party pre-sale tickets will be sold for $20 and then $25 the day of.

Other artists that will perform at the street party are Mavis Staples, Chuck Leavell with the Randal Bramblett Band, JD McPherson and Me and Molly.

Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 4:00 p.m.
