Hayiya Dance Theatre to host youth leadership conference

MACON, Georgia- (41NBC/WMGT) — Hayiya Dance Theatre is hosting a free youth leadership conference for boys and girls across Middle Georgia.

The event will take place May 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 3378 Brookdale Ave.

Zaria Anderson, a member of Hayiya Dance Theatre, said the organization aims to empower young people. The event is open to youth ages 8 to 18.

Anderson said the micro conference is designed to build confidence, develop life skills and inspire the next generation of community leaders.

Workshops will focus on communication, public speaking, conflict resolution, problem-solving, money management, financial leadership, decision-making, goal setting, soap crafting and creativity in entrepreneurship.
