Hawks Playoff Confidence Growing After Split In Chicago

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Hawks took heart from the way they played in the first two games at Chicago. And they’re taking note of what’s happening in the rest of the NBA playoffs.

Undoubtedly, this postseason looks more wide open than it’s been in years. Top-seeded San Antonio was knocked off in the first round, the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers are in serious trouble, and teams such as Atlanta and Memphis Grizzlies are getting more and more confident about their own chances.

Hawks coach Larry Drew has been saying all along the playoffs are “wide open.” He puts his own guys in the mix, saying they avoided a “knockout blow” even while losing Game 2 in Chicago.

The Eastern Conference semifinal series is tied up coming back to Atlanta for Game 3 Friday night.
