Hawkinsville Reaches Out to Missing Girl on Her 16th Birthday

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Nearly every front porch light in Hawkinsville was on Thursday night from 7-9 as a hurting community hoped to show their missing loved one, Madison Conner, the way home.

“Just the love that I have seen for you through the community–the outpour, the support from your mom, your dad, your sister,” says Hawkinsville resident, Lyn Bush.  “This town loves you baby, and we just want you to come home.  It doesn’t matter how–just either call or come home and let us know you’re safe.”

A birthday that’s supposed to be celebrated with a driver’s license instead found Madison’s mom, grandmother, and little sister placing ribbons and posters on light poles downtown, clinging to the memories they’ve had with her, and hoping for more in the future.

“Happy birthday Madison,” says 10-year-old little sister, Mary Wesley Conner.  “We’re just ready for you to come home, and I miss you really, really much.”

For now, all this community can do is wait, and hope and pray Madison comes home unharmed.

“I know that sometimes you don’t see things as clear as everybody–none of us do,” says Hawkinsville resident, Alison Kelley.  “But please, sit down and think about how much your family loves you.”

“No matter how tough times are, we always love you in Hawkinsville,” says 17-year-old Devin Wiggins.  “We’ll always have your back.  We’re trying to show you that.  Just come home.”

As of Thursday night, there are no updates on Madison’s whereabouts.  The family’s $10,000 award still stands.
