Hawkinsville Farmer Confident Peanut Crop Will Prevail, Despite Exceptional Drought

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Peanut farmer Rodney Dawson says there’s a lot of different ways to eat peanuts.

“A lot of people like to boil peanuts,” says Dawson.

He also says you can’t boil what you don’t have. Last year his crop was virtually non-existent thanks to a lack of rain.

“The dry land peanuts weren’t harvested there were not a thing on them… this year I planted only 22 acres of dry land,” says Dawson.
