WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)The Happy Hour Service Center received a $25,000 grant from Made to be Remade Georgia, a statewide sustainability initiative led by the Georgia Beverage Association.

The funding will go toward purchasing a new multipurpose baler, equipment that will allow the center to process recyclable materials more efficiently by compacting them into transport-ready bales. The new machinery will also serve as a hands-on training tool for adults with developmental disabilities, helping them develop valuable workforce skills in materials handling and recycling operations.

Georgia Beverage Association President Kevin Perry said the investment reflects a shared commitment to sustainability across the state.

“Recycling is one of those issues that affects every community,” Perry said. “When it works well, everyone benefits — from residents and businesses to our environment and economy.”

The project was supported by the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation and Keep Warner Robins Beautiful. Together, these organizations are working to expand recycling access, reduce waste, and promote environmental awareness in Houston County.

Happy Hour Service Center is a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with developmental disabilities by providing life and job skills training. The new baler will help the organization continue that mission while contributing to a cleaner, greener community.
