Handgun found, Rutland student charged
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Rutland High School student was charged for having a handgun inside a car on school campus on April 9.
According to a news release, advertisements for stun guns and pepper spray on the vehicle caught campus police’s attention.
After searching the vehicle officers found canisters of pepper spray, several stun guns and a loaded handgun in the trunk.
The news release states the 17-year-old student swapped cars with his parents earlier that day.
The student was taken to the Bibb County LEC.
