GSP Searching for Driver in Macon County Hit and Run
OGLETHORPE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Georgia State Patrol is searching for a driver who hit a man early Tuesday morning in Oglethorpe, then drove off.
According to Trooper Tyler Harris, around 2-am 48-year-old Jessie Ford of Macon County was struck by a vehicle while he was walking in the middle of the south bound lane on Highway 49 South. It happened right in front of Macon State Prison.
Harris says at this point the only lead are the skid marks on the road. He believes the vehicle may be a small body car or small truck.
Harris says Ford was believed to have been drinking. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for bruises and cuts.
