Griffith Named Next FVSU President

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University has found their next president heading into the next school year.

Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, provost and senior vice president at York College of the City University of New York, was named the ninth president of Fort Valley State University on Friday.

“This is a great day for Fort Valley,” Board of Regents Chair “Dink” NeSmith said in a news release.

The Board of Regents vote was unanimous.

Griffith will begin the role on July 22, 2013.
