MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Georgia Governor Brian Kemp spoke at a “Get Out the Vote Lunch” at Fincher’s Barbecue in Macon on Wednesday, offering support for Georgia State House District 145 candidate Noah Harbuck.

Kemp offered reassurance about election security in Georgia and encouraged voters to elect down ballot republicans like Harbuck.

“Look, we’ve got secure, accessible, fair elections in our state,” Kemp said. “My message to people would be to exercise your right to vote. Early voting is about to start. Go out and bank your vote, and bank your vote for Noah Harbuck and the rest of the Republicans to keep our state moving in the right direction.”

Harbuck, who works as an insurance agent, decided to run for a seat in the Georgia’s House of Representatives after an unsuccessful run for Forsyth City Council in 2023. He says Gov. Kemp’s support has helped him gain name recognition as his job has limited his opportunities to campaign.

“He has been so much help, along with the Republican caucus in Atlanta,” Harbuck said. “They’ve helped me out so much in this race.”

District 145 is new this year. Harbuck says polling in August had him trailing Democratic opponent Tangie Herring by a wide margin, but knocking on doors across the district has helped to close the margin. With under four weeks to go until Election Day, Harbuck has his sights set on a victory.

“We’re looking forward to winning this election come November 5th and getting up to the state capitol so that I can represent the people in my district the best way that I can,” Harbuck said.

Early voting starts October 15. Election Day is November 5.
