MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Prom night is a night every girl looks forward to, but affording that dream dress can get expensive.

41NBC spoke with Shaneika Raines, the manager of the Goodwill store on Zebulon Road in Macon, about their annual prom dress pop-up sale, where they provide every girl her dream dress at a lower price.

“Here at Goodwill, we love to support our local community,” Raines said. “And we’re having a prom pop-up to make sure everybody can afford affordable dresses. Prom can get a bit expensive now with how the style is going, so here at Goodwill, we want to make sure everybody can make their moments memorable while still sticking to a budget.”

Raines says they will have variety of prom dresses starting on February 21 until they’re all gone.

“And we’re not going to have any dress above $25, so hey, if you’re looking for a dress, please come out, not only this location but other stores as well,” she said. “We’re going to make it feel special for the ladies; we’re going to set up a little dressing area so they can model around and just make yourself feel special.”

She says 86 cents of every dollar that is spent on the dresses goes back into the community to fund jobs, career services and educational purposes.

“It personally makes my heart smile because I think every young lady deserves to feel like a princess,” she said. “Growing up, every girl wants to be Cinderella or Snow White. I think that every young lady deserves the opportunity to feel like a princess. Here at Goodwill, we’re all about embracing the beauty that’s within and making it affordable.”

The pop-up sale will be held on Saturday, February 21 at Goodwill, located at 6255 Zebulon Road in Macon.
