Goodwill fashion show helps job seekers succeed
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – High fashion doesn’t have to be high priced.
Goodwill hosted an in-store fashion show Saturday.
Models wore Goodwill apparel valued at less than $5.
For every dollar goodwill raises, more than 80 cents goes to helping people find jobs.
The store hosts classes and provides advice for those seeking a job.
“Our idea was to get the community involved in helping to promote Goodwill,” said Director of Volunteer Services Ivey Hall. “And with the back to school shopping this weekend and the tax free weekend we thought it was a great time to highlight the good deals you can get at Goodwill, and every time you shop there you’re helping somebody go back to work.”
Helms College and Helms Career Institute students did hair and makeup for the models.
