Glorious Hope Missionary Baptist Church gives gifts to residents at local nursing home
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Glorious Hope Missionary Baptist Church gave out more than 100 gifts to residents living at the Laurel Baye Nursing Home in Macon.
Church goers chose residents names and added them to their Christmas lists and shopped for them. Members of the church say they do this every year and hope that it makes residents realize they’re all family and the joy of love is what the holidays are all about.
“Even though you may not see your family members on everyday basis, you can always count on the church. And we feel as though that’s our duty and we just want to do that as a part of our community service,” adds John Herring, Senior Pastor of Glorious Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Residents sang Christmas carols, watched performances from the youth, and enjoyed their Christmas party.
