Ghsa Regular Football Season Schedule Change

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia High School Association made a final decision Tuesday to help schools impacted by Hurricane Helene.  The high school football regular season will now be extended one week to allow for make up games to be played in time before the playoffs begin November 15 and 16.

Teams across the state are still working to reschedule games after having to move their athletic events due to the storm.  This means the intended playoff “bye week,” scheduled for November 29, Black Friday, will now hold quarterfinal playoff matchups instead.

The semifinal and state championship dates will not be impacted by this decision.
