Georgia’s Reed Sorenson Looking Forward To STP 300 At Chicagoland

Peachtree City’s Reed Sorenson is looking forward to this weekend’s STP 300 NASCAR Nationwide race at Chicagoland Speedway. He’s coming off his third consecutive top-five finish this past weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway and has moved to within two points of the top spot in the championship standings.

“I have really enjoyed racing at Chicagoland Speedway,” he said. “I think a night race there is going to be really exciting. This Dollar General team has been running really well the past few weeks so I’m excited to see what we can do with this momentum. We’ve just been unloading fast cars and then making all the right adjustments during the practice sessions and race.”

The Impala he’ll be driving at  Chicagoland was the care teammate Mark Martin drove to his at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sorenson’s weekend will also include reading to a group of children in the Kids Club Zone at the Speedway on Saturday. Dollar General’s co-founder, J. L. Turner, was functionally illiterate when he started the company so a commitment to literacy is a important aspect of the company’s culture.
