UPDATE: GSP believes vehicle that struck, killed man on I-75 was red semi-truck
GSP says Richard Alan Dykes of Cochran was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 75 southbound near mile marker 109 just after 6 a.m on Tuesday.

UPDATE (8/20/25): Georgia Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post Wednesday that the suspect vehicle in the June 17 hit-and-run is now believed to be a medium red semi-truck with damage to the right-side headlight assembly.
Investigators are still reviewing video from I-75 southbound near mile marker 109.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in Dooly County and needs your help finding the driver responsible.
GSP says Richard Alan Dykes of Cochran was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 75 southbound near mile marker 109 just after 6 a.m on Tuesday.
They say Dykes was possibly hit by a semi-truck, which would now have damage to the right-side headlight, while he was standing outside his vehicle on the emergency lane.
