Georgia State Fair Announces Attractions for This Year

60721P80-YSKWOMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia State Fair is making a comeback after taking a year off for financial reasons.

Along with new ownership, the fair will offer several concerts and rides, which will be included with the price for admission.

New owners, Universal Fairs, has announced that concerts will include The Marshall Tucker Band, Genuine, The Bellamy Brothers, and plus local bands and performers.  The fair will also feature NoJoe’s Clown Circus, A Grizzly Bear Show, Rhinestone Ropers, Rattlesnake shows, Pig Races and a petting zoo with 150 animals.

The Georgia State Fair opens in Macon’s Central City Park on Friday April 27th and runs through Sunday, May 6th.  The fair will offer special pricing for Bibb County Public Schools on April 30th from 1pm to 4pm.

The Georgia State Fair is an annual tradition that started more than 150 years ago.

The Exchange Club of Macon announced the end of the event in August 2011, but later sold the event to Universal Fairs, promising that local charities would continue to benefit from the event’s proceeds.
