Georgia Secretary of State calls on DOJ to drop lawsuit over election law
Brad Raffensperger urges Attorney General Pam Bondi to end the lawsuit challenging Georgia's election reforms and support state election practices.

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is calling on newly appointed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to withdraw the Department of Justice’s lawsuit against Georgia over its election law, Senate Bill 202. The Biden Administration filed the lawsuit, challenging provisions of the law, which Raffensperger said have improved election integrity and voter access.
Since its implementation, SB 202 has resulted in reduced wait times at polling places, a more secure absentee ballot process, and higher voter confidence in elections, according to state officials. Raffensperger also urged the DOJ to support Georgia’s election practices in related legal cases.
“The Biden Administration and Stacey Abrams created a false narrative regarding Georgia’s elections,” Raffensperger said. “The DOJ should never be leveraged for political purposes. I hope Attorney General Bondi will join us in ending this frivolous lawsuit and release documents exposing the coordination between the Biden DOJ and the liberal left.”
