MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Power says its electric rates will remain frozen for the next three years, providing stability and predictability even during times of high usage.

Georgia Power spokesperson Amanda Sowells said simple adjustments can make a difference. “Ensure that you have proper airflow by making sure you are changing your air filters regularly and making sure there is nothing in front of your vents,” Sowells said. “You also want to make sure you are closing your blinds to keep hot air out, and turning off your lights when you’re not using them.”

In addition to energy-saving tips, the company offers free home upgrades for qualifying customers through its EASE Program. Upgrades may include LED light bulbs, heating and cooling system service, attic insulation and more.

Georgia Power also provides the My Power Usage Tool, which allows customers to track their electricity use hourly, daily and monthly. Paired with Threshold Alerts, the tool notifies customers when usage approaches a set limit, helping them stick to their energy budget.
