‘Georgia Magic’ filling Perry Fairgrounds as Georgia National Fair gets underway
The Georgia National Fair, an 11-day event in Perry, started Thursday afternoon.

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “If you’re from Georgia, you know what Georgia Magic is,” Georgia National Fairgrounds Marketing Director Maggie Lane said.
The 35th annual Georgia National Fair is here.
“It’s a Coca-Cola on a fall day,” Lane said. “It’s a visit to the Georgia National Fairgrounds to exhibit your sheep and swine and your animals that you’ve worked so hard to prepare for. It’s all about Georgia agriculture: our number one economic driver in the state and educating others on where we get our food from, our shelter from and fabric from.”
The fair has something for people of all ages and backgrounds. For some fair goers, it’s shopping at the unique vendors, and for others, it’s the rides.
“Behind me of course is the Ride Midway,” Lane said. “This is going to be Reithoffer Shows’ 35th year with us, and I hope everyone was able to pre-purchase their armbands or they can purchase them on the Midway right behind me. Check out our armbands days to be able to access all of the Georgia National Fair Rides.”
For other attendees, they come to the fair for the food.
“One of the main draws of the Georgia National Fair of course is food, and we have a lot of it,” Lane said. “We’ve got food that ranges from your traditional fair funnel cake, things like corn dogs, all the way to some more unique finds like our steak tip stand and our Greek stand as well. Of course we’re hosting the 3rd annual Fair Food Fight so we’ll have 20 new Fair Food submissions.”
And don’t forget about the live music.
“Our free nightly concerts on the Georgia National stage presented by our friends at the Georgia Farm Bureau, we’ve got a lot of great acts for you this year, including Ginuwine, Warrant, Josh Turner, The Bellamy Brothers and much more. We’ve got a free concert every night of the fair,” Lane added.
Whether it’s the food, music, rides or livestock, the Georgia National Fair has a little bit of magic for everyone.
