Georgia Lands 10th Seed In NCAA East Regional
ATLANTA – Georgia has made the NCAA tournament and won’t have to travel far from home for its first game. Georgia, widely discussed as a bubble team, was named the No. 10 seed in the East Regional on Sunday.
The Bulldogs will play No. 7 seed Washington on Friday in Charlotte, N.C.
Georgia (21-11) won one game in the Southeastern Conference tournament before suffering a potentially costly 65-59 overtime loss to Alabama in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Georgia made the tournament in its second season with coach Mark Fox. The Bulldogs are in the NCAA field for the first time since 2008, when they earned their way by winning the SEC tournament in Atlanta. Georgia suffered a first-round loss to Xavier to finish 17-17.
