Georgia Inmate Killed During Prison Confrontation

MACON, Ga. – Authorities say an inmate at the Central State Prison was killed during a confrontation with another prisoner at the facility.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the inmate was killed Monday afternoon. Jones said his name is being withheld until relatives can be notified.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death.

Jones said an autopsy is planned for Wednesday.
