Georgia Health Officials Promote Heart Health

Health officials in Georgia are reminding people
that a healthy lifestyle can decrease chances of developing heart
disease.

The Georgia Department of Community Health is partnering with
the American Heart Association to raise awareness during February,
which is American Heart Month.

Friday is National Wear Red Day, which aims to raise awareness
of heart disease in women.

Cardiovascular disease kills nearly 11,000 women and 10,500 men
in Georgia each year.

Officials say it’s important to know the symptoms of a heart
attack, including: chest discomfort, upper body discomfort,
shortness of breath, breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or
lightheadedness.
