Georgia Golden Olympics Kicked off In Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS,Georgia(41NBC/WMGT)-The Georgia Golden Olympics kicked off today. Dozens of Middle Georgians participated in this afternoon’s events. This is the 30th Annual Golden Olympics.

This morning, golf, softball, and volleyball tournaments were held. This afternoon, the hammer throw was held. Around 5 people participated in the first ever hammer throw for the Golden
Olympics.

The hammer throw was harder to do than it looked. Gold medals were
given out to the winners.

“I think it is motivation for everybody to keep in shape…keep good health.Everyone likes competition; it keeps you youthful. You can see it doesn’t matter what age you are. You can come out, have a good time, be competitive with some of your peers, and it is just some comradery,” said Said Golden Olympics volunteer Adrianne Paul.

Tomorrow, several other events will be going on including tennis, bowling,and the triple jump. Most of the events will take place at McConnell Talbert Stadium and Perkins Park.
