Georgia Gives on-line donations campaign includes several Macon non-profits

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Residents across the state will go online and donate to their favorite charity, during the third annual Georgia Gives Day campaign.

        Macon non-profits and charities like Habitat for Humanity will soon be recipients of monetary donations.

        Georgia gives day, is an on-line campaign sponsored and hosted by the Georgia Center of Non-Profits. The campaign has raised more than 2.6 million dollars for non-profit organizations.

        Macon Area Habitat for Humanity’s, Executive Director, Harold Tessendorf says their Georgia Gives donations has grown every year.

        “The first year was around $750 and last year we increased it to $1500, but our goal is certainly to go much higher than that, this year,” he says.

        Macon Area Habitat for Humanity plans to use Georgia Gives Day to introduce its new program. It is geared to use veterans as volunteers to build homes for other people who served our country.
