Georgia Gives Day Celebrates Giving With Reception

Give where you live– that’s the idea behind Georgia Gives Day.

It’s a day to donate to and recognize non-profit organizations throughout the Peach State.

Tonight, donors and non-profit members gathered at the Cox Capitol Theatre to celebrate the 24-hour giving spree that encourages non-profit organization growth.

At the reception, several high-achieving groups were recognized and won large cash prizes.

Julie Wilkerson, president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, says the second annual Georgia Gives Day was a great success.

“We’re here to celebrate that day, and also as part of national philanthropy day to appreciate our donors” said Wilkerson. “A lot of the organizations have brought some of their donors and volunteers just to say thank you for what they do for us throughout the year.”

Georgia Gives Day isn’t quite over yet–and if you’re interested in donating, you can visit the Georgia Gives Day website.
