Georgia College Softball Coach Hits Century Mark in NCAA Wins

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (GCSU ATHLETICS) – The Georgia College softball team is off to a 7-3 start to the season with the most recent win holding extra significance for head coach Jamie Grodecki. The Bobcats came away with a decisive 11-3 victory over Lynn University during the Triton Spring Invitational in Clearwater, Fla. which resulted in the 100th career win for Grodecki.

Prior to coaching at Georgia College, she was the head coach at National Junior College Athletic Association member St. Petersburg College. Prior to that, it was Division II Southern Arkansas University for two seasons. At SAU, Grodecki picked up 53 victories. From 2008-10 at SPC, her squads won another 102. She stands at 100 victories, with 202 wins total coaching college softball.

“We’re all very happy for Jamie,” said Athletic Director Wendell Staton. “Since she’s come to Georgia College she’s been a great fit on and off the field.”

The 2013 season has been highlighted by a 5-2 victory over No. 19 Barry University and the first 4-0 start for the program since 2007.

The Bobcats will take the field again Sunday, Feb. 17 when they start Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play taking on No. 13 Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
