Georgia Children’s Museum Closing for Good

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a six year run, the Georgia Children’s Museum announces it’s closing its doors for good.

The last day the museum will be open to the public is Friday, January 31.

The announcement came Thursday via a news release from executive director Mary Cay McCollough,
which thanked the more than 25,000 guests who visited the museum while it was open, including more than 6,000 children who visited on field trips.

We reached out to McCollough by phone Thursday to get more information on the closure but we haven’t heard back. We also stopped by the museum, but it wasn’t open.

“We are sad to have reached this point but are grateful for the support that we have received,” wrote McCullough in the news release.  “We have truly enjoyed serving our community.”
