Georgia Charter Schools Association Holds Forum in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about charter schools in middle Georgia.

Monday night, the Georgia Charter Schools Association paid a visit to Macon to answer questions from interested parents and explain how exactly the schools work.

We spoke with the principal of an all-boys charter school in Atlanta.  He says parents should know they have options when it comes to educating their children.

“You may not like charter schools,” says Dr. Gavin Samms, principal of Fulton Leadership Academy.  “Maybe you don’t know a lot about charter schools, but I think you owe it to yourself and to your children and to the children in the community to at least investigate to really try to understand them.”
