Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black at Skyview for Agriculture Day
LIZELLA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, Gary Black, visited Skyview Elementary school to celebrate Agriculture Day, Wednesday.
Agriculture Day is a part of Feed My School Week which is an initiative to encourage schools to serve locally grown food.
There were nearly twenty exhibits at the Skyview celebration, including Southeast United Dairy Association, and Georgia Farm Bureau.
Black joined the students for lunch which featured food from Georgia.
“Hopefully, these students are really going to learn something about agriculture that might impact their career in the future,” says Black.
It was the first time Bibb County Public School System participated in Agriculture Day or Feed My School Week.
