GC Soccer Volunteers at Local Elementary School
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Three Georgia College soccer players volunteered to read to a group of eager first graders at Blandy Hills Elementary School Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Junior goalkeeper Taylor Cornelius (Dacula, Ga.), sophomore forward Jordan Harman (Suwanee, Ga.) and freshman defender Emily Wilhelm (Suwanee, Ga.) made a visit to Ms. Black’s first-grade class to read “Froggy Plays Soccer.”
“The children were very interactive and asked us a lot of questions about soccer,” said Cornelius. “It was a lot of fun and a good experience for all of us.”
The GC soccer program finished 10-7-3 (5-4-2 PBC) this season, capping an amazing run through the PBC Tournament with the school’s first runner-up finish. Both Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) and Abby Dalton (Macon, Ga.) each earned spots on the All-PBC teams, while Ally Barys (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) was placed on the Capital One Academic All-District Team.
