GC Men’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth at Regionals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (GCSU RELEASE) – The Georgia College men’s cross country team ended their season Saturday, Nov. 9 with an eighth place finish out of 28 teams at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Charlotte, N.C.

Sophomore Trevor Turner (Snellville, Ga.) led the way for the Bobcats, crossing the line with a time of 33:21, good for 42nd place in the field of 187 and the third-fastest time in school history. Eleven seconds behind Turner was classmate James Ryden (Atlanta), posting a time of 33:32 and finishing in 49th place. Ryden now ranks fourth in the school recordbooks.

Paul McNeil (Dunwoody, Ga.) placed 63rd with a time of 33:57, good for eighth place in the school’s all-time 10K list. Sophomore Michael Warrick (Marietta, Ga.) posted a time of 34:03, which was good for 67th place and the 10th best time in school history.

Freshman Paul Orr (Fairburn, Ga.) was the fifth Bobcat to cross the line, finishing in 75th place overall. Orr posted a time of 34:29.

The 2013 Southeast Regional will bring to an end a season that was highlighted by three first place finishes, and the Bobcats finishing in the top eight in all seven of their races.
