GC Golfer Named Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Senior Bryan Fox (Roswell, Ga.) of the No. 16 Georgia College golf team was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday.

Fox took on a Division I field at the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate, firing a one-under score good enough for a 12th place finish among the 65-golfer field. The senior from Roswell, Ga., started with a 76, then rebounded in a big way with two sub-par rounds of 68 and 71 to climb to 12th. The Bobcats finished ninth as a team. Fox is currently third in the PBC with a 71.3 stroke average and is the only PBC player in the top 10 to play in three rounds in their opening tournament. His second-round 68 is also the second-lowest single round in the PBC so far.

Fox is the first PBC Golfer of the Week for Georgia College since Patrick Garrett won it Nov. 1, 2012. This is the 18th PBC weekly honor for GC golf all-time.

The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Sept. 16 at the Kiawah Island Invitational, hosted by USC Aiken.
