GBI investigating double homicide in Cordele

The shooting occurred in the 500th block of West 16th Avenue in the parking lot of Quick Mart.

CORDELE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cordele Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred March 23 in the 500th block of West 16th Avenue in the parking lot of Quick Mart.

Officers responded to two shootings on March 23.

A female was shot in the first incident on Saturday night and was treated for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The second fatal shooting involved two men. Ben Foreman and Christopher King died as a result of their injuries sustained during the shooting.

Officers found the two victims lying in front of the store and both were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Cordele Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Detectives are working with the GBI to identify the suspect(s) responsible. The investigation is active and ongoing.
