GBI arrests Coffee County funeral home owner
Law enforcement reported finding 18 decomposing bodies.

DOUGLAS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) says agents arrested a funeral home owner after law enforcement found 18 decomposing bodies.
According to the GBI, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office began investigating 39-year-old Chris Johnson on Saturday, October 26.
While deputies were serving an eviction notice at Johnson Funeral Home, they say they found 18 corpses in various stages of decomposition. After that discovery, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office asked for the GBI to get involved.
The GBI arrested Johnson on October 27. He’s facing 17 counts of abuse of dead body.
