GA College State University Professor dies in fatal accident

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people died in a three-car accident Tuesday morning in Milledgeville.

Professor Allison Everett of Georgia College State University and her brother David Black died in the accident.

It happened on Lake Laurel Road. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Everett’s car was involved in a head-on collision and went into a ditch. The other vehicle involved rotated in the roadway and was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained injuries. Allison was riding on the passenger side of the car and her brother was in the back seat. The driver has been identified as 54-year-old Kenneth Everett.

Baldwin County Coroner John Gonzales says Everett died from blunt force trauma.

A statement has been released from the university in regards to Professor Allison Everett’s passing:

“Georgia College is saddened by the tragic loss of Allison Everett. She has been a dedicated faculty member at Georgia College since 1991, teaching students in our School of Health and Human Performance as an exercise science lecturer.

The GC community extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Allison. A tragic loss on a close-knit campus such as ours impacts many members of the campus community. The university will have counselors available for anyone on campus who needs assistance.  “

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident. Charges are pending.
