FVSU department chair encourages students to consider family and consumer sciences

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University is currently accepting applications for the fall 2025 semester, and one department chair wants to inform prospective students about a unique opportunity.

June 15 is the final day to submit applications and all supporting documents for fall 2025 enrollment. For students still undecided about a major, one department may have the answer.

Francine Hollis, chair of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Fort Valley State, encourages students to consider enrolling in the program.

Hollis said the family and consumer sciences program prepares students for meaningful careers in food and nutrition, infant and childhood development, and family services.
