Funeral arrangements announced for Crawford County deputy Timothy Rivers
Honoring the life and legacy of Deputy Timothy Rivers

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for Crawford County Deputy Timothy Rivers.
According to Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the preliminary investigation revealed the marked unit was traveling south on Marshall Mill Road, responding to a call to assist another officer. Rivers, the driver of the marked unit traveled across the centerline into the northbound travel lane and onto the east shoulder. Rivers then made a steering maneuver to the right, into the path of an oncoming vehicle that was traveling north.
Rivers and a passenger from the other vehicle were transported to Atrium Health Navicent by Community Ambulance Service.
Rivers, of Bibb County, was later pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent.
According to Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker, the viewing and funeral will be at Bentley & Sons Funeral Home in Macon.
The viewing will be Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the funeral will be Sunday, February 11 at 1 p.m.
Following the funeral, burial will be at Cherry Blossoms Garden in Lizella.
