Fundraiser in Memory of the Sullivent Sisters

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two years ago today, two Houston County sisters died in a car accident.

17-year-old Leslie Sullivent and her sister 11-year-old Bridget Sullivent were driving on Georgia 96 when their car collided with an SUV. Since then their family and friends have been working to keep the girls’ memory alive.

“They just loved giving back, so we wanted to give back for them,” said Kenna Walker, a close family friend.

The Sullivent sisters loved helping others and hitting the fields. Both Leslie and Bridget were very active Little League softball players. So, in an attempt, to combine the sisters’ favorite things, Walker and the Sullivent family set up a fund in the girls’ honor.

“It’s time for Little League to start back up,” said Melva Sullivent, Leslie and Bridget’s mother, “and what a wonderful way to remember the girls, by giving back to the community and those that could use some help.”

Over the weekend, friends and family held a fundraiser. The group gathered at the Waffle House on Houston Lake Road, where they raised more than a thousand dollars at a bake sale and car wash.

“It’s a chance to give kids, the opportunity they had,” said James Sullivent, Leslie and Bridget’s father.

The money raised will set up a scholarship fund with the Little League Division in Warner Robins, where it will be used to buy uniforms and help with registration fees for families who can’t afford it.

Melva Sullivent said they hope to make the fundraiser an annual event.
