Fundraiser for Warner Robins toddler suffering from Dysphasia

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tristan Jade Kaminer seems like a typical little girl as she twirls in her sundress and plays with her princess dolls.

Except Tristan suffers from Dysphasia.

“She has trouble swallowing,” explained her mother Tasha Ray.

Tristan’s parents say Dysphasia is usually associated with other illnesses like Down Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy. That’s why it’s so difficult to pinpoint what is causing Tristan’s condition because she doesn’t have any other symptoms.

When Tristan was born she had to have a feeding tube, but now she can eat food and thicker liquids like yogurt and milkshakes.

Her father, Caleb Kaminer, said her favorite foods right now are Cheetos and Ramen Noodles.

Tristan also has a g-tube in her stomach that allows her to consume thin liquids.

She’s been in therapy since she was 3 months old and while her parents still don’t know what’s causing her condition, it’s her progress that keeps them optimistic.

“Right now we’re starting to work on thin liquids because that’s the final thing,” said Kaminer.

The family is having a fundraiser to help pay for Tristan’s medical expenses. They’re working with a company to sell custom “Prayers for Tristan Jade” bracelets. You can order you own by visiting the links below.
